Creativity Matters: I Tried A Psychic & Made A Vision Board - Here's How It Went
Late to the party but proud of myself for making one and you should too.
Coming into 2025 feeling blah I decided it was time to shake things up.
Enter: two sessions with Reaya, an intuitive healer and psychic based in Sydney. One was a Sacred Circle Awaken Workshop; the other, a Moon Medicine Meditation. Both promised to help me tap into my inner magic and manifest my potential (Year of the Snake energy, shedding the old, stepping into the new - all that jazz). And let me tell you: they delivered. Reaya is a spiritual powerhouse, and if you’re feeling a little lost, I highly recommend booking in. Side note: these sessions would be an excellent option for a hen’s party or a work team bonding sesh if they’re open-minded and down for a little mystic energy.
Now, let’s talk vision boards. As part of the workshop, we were encouraged to create one for the year ahead. At first, I procrastinated for about a week. Would this really be my thing? And how was I meant to find the perfect magazine clippings to reflect how I want to show up in 2025? But once I finally sat down, scissors in hand, I fell into a full-on meditative trance.
The result? A board that wasn’t about things - but about feelings. JOY. FEARLESSNESS. MAGIC. LESS DRINKING. MORE READING. MORE SPONTANEITY. MORE BODIES OF WATER. ART. STILLNESS.
It became less about manifesting a Jacquemus bowling bag (which I will still manifest but in a wish list way), and more about the energy I want to embody. And while I know I won’t stick to everything on there, having it up in my space is giving me daily clarity. Science backs this up too, so if you're skeptical Google it.
If you’re also vision board-curious but don’t know where to start, here are a few tips:
Set the mood - light a candle, burn some incense, cue up your go-to playlist.
Handwrite your goals first (something about pen to paper just hits and I was recently reading the power of this but now can’t find the exact reference, sorry!).
Gather inspo - magazines, photos, quotes, stickers, whatever sparks joy. If you can glue it, it belongs.
Arrange it all on a giant bit of cardboard circa your 1998 school project on frogs or whatever canvas you fancy, some people opt for cork boards.
Hang it somewhere you’ll actually see it.
That’s it. No rules. And you don’t have to wait for a new year to create one.
While writing about vision boards feels so 10 years ago, getting clear on your goals never gets old. Regardless, I’ve put my vision board at the top for accountability beyond my home office.
Maybe the real future-forward move is manifesting with a little psychic insight? Bow down to Reaya for her guidance.
Happy vision boarding!
